The mission of CEA is to foster experiential learning opportunities and enhanced academic advising for College of Arts and Sciences students. This mission derives from an appreciation of the critical role that an applied, learn-by-doing component plays in a liberal arts education. It is also built on the special tradition of the University’s historic commitment to practice-oriented education and the College’s strong commitment to individualized academic advising. The CEA seeks to provide opportunities for students in the areas of undergraduate research, co-op and classroom integration, study abroad, academic internships, community service learning, leadership development, and the creative arts, as well as to provide the essential academic advising necessary to guide students toward these experiential opportunities and integrate the opportunities into the curriculum.
