Becoming a Husky Card Vendor
Benefits
- Additional clientele: Students are famous for being strapped for cash. For many, their primary source of money is what their parents put on their Husky Card, so they patronize only those places that accept the card.
- Additional marketing: We list your business name, address, phone number, and Web site (if available) in our online Husky Card vendor list, designed to let students know about all of our Husky vendor locations.
- Indentifying stickers: We provide stickers to display in and outside your establishment, so those walking by will immediately identify you as a Husky Card vendor and a good place to stop in.
- Direct mail: You can also access our students, faculty, and staff (at an additional cost to you) through direct mail on campus. This service is only available to Husky vendors.
Costs
- Purchase of Husky Card reader: There is a one-time purchase of each Husky Card reader required. Each Husky Card reader must be connected to a working phone line.
- Commission: The vendor must pay Northeastern a previously agreed-upon commission on the adjusted gross sales of all Husky Card purchases. All commissions are paid monthly, based on the previous month’s sales.
- Service fee: The vendor must pay a yearly service fee of $100 for the first Husky Card reader and $25 for each additional reader on a yearly basis. The fee covers up to six service calls. For each additional service call after the sixth, there is an additional charge of $50 per call. These fees are deducted from sales beginning in the first month after contract renewal and the month after the University receives the Vendor’s seventh service call.
