    Northeastern’s online degree programs connect students to real-world experience in a variety of ways. Here are some that best represent the university’s unique online experiential approach.

    Master of Science in Bioinformatics

    Professionals in bioinformatics develop Big Data approaches to biology that can yield new insights into diseases and their cures. Northeastern’s program offers cross-disciplinary coursework in biology, computer science, and information technology, preparing students for careers in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The curriculum features a cooperative work experience with leading partners in academia and industry.

    Master of Science in Computer Science ALIGN Program

    Students in the ALIGN program, an accelerated master’s program for students without a computer science background, pursue a custom curriculum specifically designed to leverage their quantitative aptitude to transition into careers as computer science professionals. The program features a cooperative work experience with a range of Northeastern partners including industry leaders such as Amazon, Microsoft, Hulu, Big Fish, and Google.

    Master of Science in Project Management

    The curriculum is grounded in real-world case studies, and graduates of the program are automatically credited with 1,500 hours of project management experience toward earning the Project Management Institute’s coveted Project Management Professional credential. The program provides the practical skills and theoretical concepts needed to lead complex projects, and is one of just a handful of master’s programs in the U.S. accredited by the PMI.

    Master of Sports Leadership

    This practice-oriented degree program focuses on the social and business issues that are critical to sports. The curriculum, developed in collaboration with the university’s renowned Center for the Study of Sport in Society, covers topics such as leadership, law, media relations, management, and the relationship between sports and the larger society. The coursework culminates with an experiential-based graduate project or internship with a sports organization.
