About the Conference

Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum, Keynote

The third Race Relations Conference on New England Campuses will feature inspiring keynotes and a wide range of sessions designed to challenge and energize participants regarding best practices for diversity and inclusion on college campuses.

We are pleased to announce a new student-focused component to kick-off the 2006 conference. The Diversity Career Fair for college students throughout New England will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 preceding the two-day conference.

Please join as leaders and professionals from campuses across New England unite to discuss issues and share best practices from various colleges and universities.

Through panel discussions and interactive workshops, participants will learn to:

• create a diverse learning environment that promotes positive race relations and diversity,

• educate against and respond to incidents of harassment and hate crimes,

• promote institution-wide dialogue and learning on race, diversity and cultural sensitivity,

• identify ways to recruit and retain a diverse student, faculty and professional community in the post-Michigan era,

• develop a network of peers who are committed to diversity and who can share experiences and resources.
