The Northeastern University Police Department offer a bicycle registration program. Registering your bicycle allows you to combine the security steps of using a U-type lock and cable to secure the bicycle with the advantages of registering the bicycle with NUPD. Registering the bicycle allows you to have on record important identifying information (type, color, serial number, etc.) that is helpful when making a police report along with contact information so that you may be notified by the University Police should it become necessary. Advantages also include a 15% discount on bicycle safety and security items at Community Bike located at 496 Tremont Street in Boston, MA (N.U. Husky ID card required). Barnes and Noble in the Ell Building offers a 20% discount on "U-Type Locks." Registering your bicycle is easy, strongly recommended and only costs $5.00 (payable by check, money order, or N.U. Husky ID card).
