About Leadership and Public Life
Truly effective leadership is as rare as it is demanding, requiring courage and skill. Those in public life are charged with serving and representing the citizenry while simultaneously effecting positive change. Serving and representing are hard, and exercising leadership while mobilizing people to effect real change is harder yet.
While there is much debate about whether or not leadership can be taught, there is no doubt that it can be learned, and Northeastern University’s Leadership and Public Life is dedicated to that learning.
Our programs serve public servants, aspiring public servants, and all those active in our communities and committed to “Community.” A “thoughtful action tank” rather than a “think tank,” we are a resource for those eager to enhance leadership skills and be a powerful catalyst for the meaningful and positive changes we and our communities need.
