A recent edition of News@Northeastern shone a spotlight on Professor John Coley’s research into how chemists make complex decisions. Along with collaborators at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, Prof. Coley explored how the decision-making process applied specifically to drug discovery.As described in a recent article in the journal PLOS One, their research found that there is something of a disconnect between the way researchers think they make decisions, and the process by which they actually do.
