Research
I am a graduate student in social psychology in Dr. David DeSteno’s lab. My research addresses questions about the nature of compassion and its influence on interpersonal behavior. Specific projects have examined the effects of meditation, the affective structure of compassion, and how feeling compassion for one person affects behavior toward others in downstream interaction. I have also worked on projects investigating gratitude and relationship-building behaviors as well as emotion and prejudice. Other areas of interest include the history of psychology and the influence of cultural phenomenon on scientific activity.
