PROTECT researchers present at Manatí Medical Center conference to promote influenza vaccination during pregnancy

PROTECT researchers, Dr. José Cordero (Core C Leader) and Dr. Liza Anzalota (Core C Recruitment Coordinator), worked in collaboration with the Manatí Medical Center (MMC) in Puerto Rico to offer an educational activity for physicians to promote influenza vaccinations for pregnant women. After touring the MMC, Dr. Cordero presented a conference on the importance of protecting the mother and child from influenza during pregnancy. Ms. Brendaliz Avila, MMC Public Relations Director, was the local organizer of the conference, which was attended by twenty six OBGYN physicians from the Manatí Medical Center, Manatí Doctor’s Hospital and Cayetano Coll y Toste Hospital Arecibo. Similar educational meetings have also been held at four Community Health Centers located in the counties of Morovis, Ciales, Lares and Camuy.
