The Bernard M. Gordon Center for Subsurface Sensing and Imaging Systems (Gordon-CenSSIS) and the DHS Center of Excellence, Awareness and Localization of Explosives-Related Threats (ALERT).
The PROTECT program was highlighted at the Gordon-CenSSIS/ALERT Research and Industrial Collaboration Conference (RICC), which had the theme in 2010 of “Research to Reality.” The RICC was held on October 19, 2010 at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. PROTECT researcher Roger Giese, a Professor of Chemistry & Biomedical Science at Northeastern, gave an overview of the PROTECT vision and structure to engineering professionals interested in biomedical and biological innovation. PROTECT students also presented at the student poster session on the afternoon of the RICC, interacting directly with professionals in their field and representing the research and educational components of PROTECT to a wider audience.
