Application Information for 2014 Matriculation

Who Is Eligible

  • Sophomores in a traditional four year program who began college no earlier than the 2010-2011 academic year and who will graduate in January or May 2014.
  • Middlers in a five year co-op program who began college no earlier than the 2009-2010 academic year, who will have completed their first coop by June 30, 2012, and who will graduate in January or May of 2014.

Sophomores in a traditional four year program and Middlers in a five year coop program may graduate a semester (but not a full year) early due to AP credit or an accelerated curriculum.

Students who began full-time studies at Northeastern mid-year may apply with the class that enrolled the following September.

Students who transferred into NU and who have an eligible class standing may apply. However, according to the Tufts website: “It is highly unlikely that an applicant who has transferred to one of the participating schools from a less rigorous school would be admitted to TUSM via the Early Assurance Program.”

Applicants must have completed, at the college level) at least 2 semesters of biology, 2 semesters of general chemistry, and one semester of organic chemistry by the end of the current academic year. In most cases, AP credit will not take the place of course completion requirements. It is expected that both semesters of organic chemistry and both semesters of physics will be completed by the end of the 2012-2013 academic year.

Who is not eligible

  • Students who began college earlier than September 2009.
  • Students who have NOT completed at least 4 academic semesters as a full-time college student by the end of the spring semester, 2012.
  • Students who will have been enrolled in classes for six (6) consecutive Fall/Spring semesters, beginning in January, 2012.
  • Students who are enrolled in 5-year (or longer) degree-granting academic programs (e.g., PharmD).
