‘The Year of the Woman’: 40 Years after Title IX
The 2012 Olympics, deemed as 'The Year of the Woman' was the first in which every country sent a female athlete to the Games, as well as the first in which U.S. women athletes both out-medaled and ounumbered the U.S. men. Using these accomplishments and the 40th anniversary of Title IX as a launching pad, this panel discussion on the continuing impact of Title IX for women in both education and sports will address the question, 'how far have we really come?'
This event is free and open to the public.
