Students Honored at Spring Awards DinnerAugust 03, 2012
This year’s Political Science Recognition Dinner was held on April 20th, with the incomparable Master of Ceremony, Professor Woody Kay, who regaled us with laughter and oversaw the evening’s events. The dinner was sponsored by the Political Science Department and the Delta Gamma Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honorary Society.
It was attended by students, parents, and faculty. The keynote speaker and recipient of the Distinguished Public Service Award, was Leonard Tagg, a Senior Policy Analyst with the CIA who had just retired. Mr. Tagg spoke about preparing the President’s Daily Brief, as well as hundreds of other daily intelligence reports for senior policy makers while at the CIA.
In addition to inducting 16 undergraduates and 8 graduates into Pi Sigma Alpha, the Department was pleased to present Matthew Cournoyer the “Outstanding Senior in Political Science” award; and to present “Outstanding Senior in Experiential Education” awards to Christina Schlegel and Kenneth Lewis. Also recognized at the event were the first Sadeleer Scholar, Sean Lauzier, and the eight recipients of the Matthew O’Rourke Scholarship, Sarah Dolan, Allyse Falce, Robert Horne, Colleen Kelly, Dylan O’Sullivan, Andonis Marden, William Pett, and Tiana Voegelin.
