Approximate Deadline: February 2014

Democracy Matters is a non-partisan, non-profit national student organization offering a paid internship in “Organizing for Reform.”

Since 2001 Democracy Matters has worked with undergraduate interns on 65 campuses each year throughout the United States. Student interns organize and start a Democracy Matters chapter on their own campuses to educate and involve students in advocating for reform of the US campaign finance reform system. Our goal is to get big money out of politics and people back in. Our President is Adonal Foyle, a former NBA player. He believes that students should have more of a voice in our democracy.

Our program gives student interns intense training and mentorship by our professional staff. The internship is ideal for a rising sophomore or junior who is interested in politics, social change, and/or political reform. The internship can also be coordinated with your school’s practicum or internship programs so please forward this information to those departments as well.

To apply, students may send a resume and cover letter to joanm@democracymatters.org<mailto:joanm@democracymatters.org>. To learn more go to www.democracymatters.org<http://www.democracymatters.org/>
