The James Arena-DeRosa campaign is currently accepting résumés from energetic and talented individuals looking to gain experience on a political campaign committed to progressive values and the principles of a fair and open government.  Both part-time and full-time fellowships in New Media, Communications, Finance, Policy & Analysis, and advance are available to qualified applicants.  Every effort will be made to provide for currently-enrolled college students who wish to earn academic credit at their institution.

This opportunity will give fellows hands-on experience in drafting press releases, preparing briefing memos, producing videos, working with volunteers and community organizers, implementing social media strategy, fundraising and much more. Our goal is to cater the experience to the fellow’s background and interests.  Successful applicants will gain valuable insight into the inner-workings of a professional, statewide campaign.  The candidate has enjoyed experience at all three levels of government, and has been a trusted appointee of both Presidents Clinton and Obama.

“In the media today, our younger generation is constantly accused of being apathetic and, based on the young people I’ve met, that couldn’t be further from the truth,” said James Arena-DeRosa. “I enjoy the fresh lens through which college students approach problems. They all know what is at stake as they prepare to enter an economy that seems tougher and tougher on our young graduates. ”

“As a young intern at the State House, I was fortunate to work for a legislator who trusted me at a young age to tackle real problems, find creative solutions, and learn about the process of governing by doing the hard work it takes,” said Dan Murphy, Campaign Manager. “As a Fellow on our campaign, you will be given real responsibility to make a meaningful impact, not just on this race, but also on the wider public discussion of the issues, like creating new jobs, addressing income inequality, health care, and hunger, and educating our children more completely.”

The Arena-DeRosa campaign is committed to diversity among our staff and recognizes that success requires a commitment to growing a diverse staff that provides the best quality services to James’ supporters and constituents. The campaign is an equal opportunity employer and it is our policy to recruit, hire, train, promote, and administer any and all personnel actions without regard to sex, race, age, color, creed, national origin, religion, economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, ethnic identity or physical disability, or any other legally protected basis. The Arena-DeRosa campaign will not tolerate any unlawful discrimination and any such conduct is prohibited.

Any interested applicants should send their résumé to murph @ JAD2014.com, a brief letter of interest, an indication of their availability, and the department(s) of interest.  Please use “Fellows Program – [Your Surname]” in the email’s subject line.
