January 24, 2013
Funded by the European Science Foundation, Professor William Miles travelled in early January to St. Louis, Senegal to participate in the African Borderland Research Network (ABORNE) policy workshop on governance. He presented on the African Borderland Community Development (ABCD) project that connects Northeastern students in his courses with villages in a West African borderland to promote development. A research excursion to Senegal’s riverine border crossing with Mauritania was part of the program, as the accompanying photos attest.
