Massachusetts House Proposal would rename South Station the Michael S. Dukakis Transportation Center at South Station

February 03, 2014 The Massachusetts House last week voted to rename South Station in honor of Governor Dukakis, an homage to all the work the former Governor did for transportation innovation in the Commonwealth. The amendment passed through the House on Wednesday, and awaits approval from the Senate, and a signature from Governor Deval Patrick. Read the full Globe story here. When asked by the Herald how he felt about the decision, the former Governor said "Boy, when they start naming things for you, you know you’re on your way out. Let me tell you, I’m 80 and I feel 20."
