The International Relations Council

The International Relations Council is an interactive and integrated student group for Northeastern Students interested in foreign policy, international relations and the finer points of global politics. Weekly meetings are complemented by collaboration with the Model UN (POLS 4910), Model NATO (POLS 4918), and Model Arab League (POLS 4915) courses offered by the Political Science Department as part of NU’s experiential education requirement.

The team attends numerous prestigious collegiate simulated conferences each semester, as well as hosts various conferences for middle school, high school and college students. Through these activities, students engage in and discuss the most prominent international current events while perfecting debate and public speaking skills.

To become involved with the International Relations Council, students can either speak with the current faculty advisor (Philip D’Agati) about registering for one of the three Model courses or it is possible to participate in these simulations as an extra-curricular, non-credit activity. For more information on becoming involved with this very active group please see their website.
