Executive Assistant Intern for US PIRG

US PIRG is launching a campaign to urge Stop & Shop and other regional grocery stores to label their store brand GMO products. We have the right to know what’s in the food we buy so we can make healthy, responsible, and informed choices about what we’re eating. I’m looking for intern (10-20 hrs a wk) to work closely with me in our downtown Boston office.

Internship Description: The Executive Assistance Intern will work side by side with the with US PIRGs Field Director to help coordinate the following projects:

· Communication with the Field Team: Interns will work to pull together daily field updates on our voter
registration progress.

· Campaign Product: The intern will be responsible campaign product. Working to get Stop N Shop to label
GMOs. This work will be done through on-line outreach.

· Organizational development: The intern will work with the Field Director on projects to strengthen The Student PIRGs institutional systems. This will include working on developing a media and photo database, managing our contact database, and updating our website.

Location: Boston, MA (Downtown)

Hours: The start and end dates are flexible, although most interns begin in Sept and intern through mid- November. Interns work between 15-40 hours/week, and the level of commitment can be tailored to your schedule.

Qualifications: We are looking for people who are serious about saving the planet, have experience working with environmental or social change issues, and have demonstrated leadership experience.

Benefits: The internships are unpaid, but interns gain valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit management.
