The intern will support our CARES (Congregations Acting to Renew Earth’s Sustainability) program which seeks to help lower-income and communities of color in Boston, Cambridge and Somerville to lower their energy bills and carbon footprint. This innovative program energizes congregations by bringing them together to make do-it-yourself energy efficiency improvement at their houses of worship.

The intern will do outreach, assist members to sign up for home energy assessments and to apply for low income fuel assistance and weatherization benefits. He or she will also help recruit and organize participants in the energy upgrade work events.

$15 per hour. 12 to 15 hours a week. A car and past or present engagement with a faith community are desirable although not required.
