The Department of Political Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs to students interested in learning about the political world around them, and to students seeking career options in government and related fields. In the Northeastern tradition of experiential learning, we combine the best in academic studies with work experiences through internships, cooperative education, service learning, and other experiential opportunities.
Through a combination of publications, research, teaching, and extracurricular activities, the research and engagement areas listed to the left are shared strengths of our faculty, students, and alumni. These are not necessarily concentration areas but are, instead, core areas of expertise which can be found at all levels of our curriculum and through the research and interests of our faculty and students.
We encourage you to peruse these sections (listed on the left) to gain a sense of what we do and what you might be able to pursue as a student in one of our undergraduate or graduate programs. We think you will agree that the Department of Political Science offers many exciting and challenging opportunities to develop your interest, knowledge, and skills in the world of government and politics.
