The School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs is an example of a broader category most frequently called Schools of Public Affairs. These names of such institutions go by a variety of combinations: School of Public Policy, School of Public and Urban Affairs, School of Public Policy and Management, School of Public Policy and Planning, School of Urban and Regional Planning, School of Social Policy, etc. Our choice of name intends to reflect our emphasis on urban and regional public policy. The graduate degree programs offered by Schools of Public Affairs also go by a variety of names including Master of Public Policy, Master of Urban Policy, Master of Public Affairs, Master of Public Policy and Administration, and Master of Public Administration.
