follow the links at right to view their reports.
The reports
contain sections on major points raised by each speaker, principle themes
from the general discussion, questions that emerged during the sessions,
and/ or commentary regarding the conference's common questions:
- How is
the work environment distinctive in its potential as a learning venue?
- What is
it about work that induces learning in the first place?
- What
kind of learning is generated by practice?
- What processes
and methods are necessary to distill learning from work?
- What are
the roles of theory and reflection in learning from work?
- Are there
thresholds of experience that are required to make work learningful?
Is simulated experience sufficient? What makes for effective practice?
- What linkages
exist between the classroom (academic) and work environments? How can
each reinforce the other?
