Almost exactly two centuries ago in Berlin Wilhelm von Humboldt defined a
model of university that would come to inspire universities world-wide. University
then experienced nationalism, World Wars, the Cold War and mass education.
More recently, University is being profoundly shaped, on one side, by the digital
revolution and, on the other side, by neo-liberalism. What are the consequences?
Does the Academic community have its own view of where University
should be heading in the 21st Century
