Tensor Networks in Real Materials and New Tensor Network Algorithms

I will survey the current status of tensor network algorithms in the context of realistic systems, first drawing on examples from the chemistry of photosynthesis and nitrogen fixation. If time permits, I will discuss new algorithms for the efficient simulation of higher dimensional tensor networks, and/or the use of entanglement based quantum embeddings for bulk systems, with a view to describing the physics of high Tc superconductivity from a microscopic perspective.
