Triggered activity is an important cause of life-threatening reentrant cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. However the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood despite considerable progress in the molecular characterization of several genetic disorders and pathologies. We use a new physiologically detailed insilico electrophysiology model of rabbit ventricular myocyte developed in our group to gain basic insights into calcium-mediated cellular mechanisms of TA under well-characterized experimental conditions.
