Dr. Lin Zhu won a two-years American Cancer Society- Ellison Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship for $102,000.
Dr. Lin Zhu received his Ph D in Pharmaceutics from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2010 and is currently a postdoctoral research associate advised by Dr. Vladimir P. Torchilin in the Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Malav Trivedi not only won the RISE award in Health Sciences category, but also won the “Excellence in Research Award” at the 2013 Northeastern University Research and Innovation Expo.
Malav Trivedi is a doctoral student working under Professor Richard Deth. Malav’s thesis project is titled “A novel role of Redox/methylation signaling as an epigenetic-based mechanism for opioid drug action”
Brendan Harmon Wins Third Prize in the Poster Award at the Experimental Biology 2013 meeting.
Brendan Harmon, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, working in Professor Barbara Waszczak’s laboratory was selected as one of the finalists at the Experimental Biology 2013 meeting. Brendan won third place, which includes a $250 prize and free registration for the 2014 meeting.
Dipti Deshpande Receives the American Association of Indian Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAiPS) 2012 Student Scholar’s Award
Dipti Deshpande, a doctoral candidate currently pursuing her PhD in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy at the Northeastern University was awarded the “AAiPS 2012 Student Scholar’s Award” at the 2012 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. She is currently working in Distinguished Professor and Chairman, Dr Mansoor Amiji’s laboratory and her thesis is titled, “Multimodal Omega-3 Fatty Acid Oil-Containing Nanoemulsion-Based Therapeutic Strategy for the Treatment of Endothelial Dysfunction in Coronary Artery Disease.
Jing Xu Won the Research Poster Competition in 2012 National Cancer Institute’s Nanotechnology Alliance Principal Investigators Meeting
Jing Xu, a doctoral candidate in Department of Pharmaceutical Science with specialization in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery, is awarded as one of poster presentation winners in 2012 National Cancer Institute Nanotechnology Alliance Principal Investigators Meeting. Ms. Xu is working in the laboratory of Distinguished Professor and Chair Mansoor Amiji, and her doctoral thesis research project is titled “Multimodal Therapeutic Approach for Pancreatic Cancer: Delivery of Combination wt-p53 Gene and Gemcitabine in Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor-Targeted Gelatin Nanoparticles”.
