Welcome to this Spring 2014 edition of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences E-Newsletter! Spring is a wonderful time in New England with the flowers blooming, the display of strength and resilience at the Boston Marathon on Patriot’s Day, graduation ceremonies, and a celebration of faculty members and students accomplishment.
So much has happened in the Department since our last E-Newsletter sent out in the beginning of the year. Professor Richard Deth, who has had a distinguished 38 year career at Northeastern University, will be officially retiring in June. We had a wonderful celebration planned for him on Friday, May 16th. Details are available on our website at: http://www.northeastern.edu/pharmsci/research-showcases/2014-research-showcase/. We hope to see you.
A large group of our PhD and MS students completed their training and received their degrees in May during the commencement ceremony. We are so proud of these graduates who are well on their way to become excellent research scientists. Our current post-docs and students continue to win awards at national and international events that are highlighted in the E-Newsletter. Our faculty members also have received many new grants and some are anticipating receiving NIH funding in the near future. Hiring of new faculty continues at Northeastern and we are expecting several colleagues joining the Department in the Fall.
Please lend us your support for our graduate programs through a tax-deductible donation to the Department. It is very easy to give to the Empower Campaign at Northeastern. Just click on the link below and direct your donation to the Pharm Sci Graduate Program Fund:
Most important, we want to hear from you! Please send us a note by email at firstname.lastname@example.org to connect back.
