The 2012-2013 school year has ended, and it was a successful year for the pep band! Throughout the year we played at many exciting games for Northeastern Athletics, including the Men’s and Women’s Beanpot games. New uniforms (hockey jerseys) came in early February, and we were able to wear them at TD Garden for the Men’s hockey game and at Matthews Arena for the Women’s hockey game. In March the band traveled down to Richmond, VA over spring break to play at the CAA Men’s Basketball tournament. Other sports that we played at were Women’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, Men and Women’s Soccer, and Men’s Crew. You can watch all of these athletic events and more on GoNUxstream.
The Band plays a wide variety of music, from “Carry on My Wayward Son” and “Dude Looks like a Lady” to “I Got a Feeling” and “Enter Sandman”. The cheerleaders and dance team have a routine to “Party Rock Anthem” which we play at half time in Basketball games. Some songs commonly requested by the Dog House are “Stacy’s Mom”, “Hey Song”, and “Go NU”. At the end of every game, we play and sing our fight song “All Hail”.
We are all looking forward to this fall to see how the band will grow and improve with new and old players. We have rehearsals on Wednesdays and Sundays for the first two months of the school year. There will be signs posted around campus for the dates of these rehearsals, but also check our Facebook and Twitter accounts for more information.
