It is mandatory for all transfer students who are beginning in the spring to attend a one-day orientation session before they start at Northeastern. You’ll confirm financial arrangements, review your academic history, and plan your academic program. You’ll also meet current Northeastern students and other new transfer students. A non-refundable $350 New Student Fee will be posted to your first semester bill. This fee includes student orientation costs (including the opportunity to have two complimentary guests participate in the Parent Program which runs simultaneously to the Student Program), the automatic membership of your parents into the Parents Association; receiving regular communication on the University throughout the year, and Welcome Week activities.

Check-in/Check-out Times and Locations
All students/parents should check-in at the Curry Student Center, Indoor Quad, from 7:00-7:30a.m. Check-out begins at 3:00p.m. in the Curry Student Center, Indoor Quad. Please note that the check-out time can vary upon the completion of the student's academic advising.

International Students
International students are invited to take part in a comprehensive introduction program, hosted by the International Student and Scholar Institute (ISSI), held at the beginning of each semester. Activities include cultural enrichment programming, information sessions, immigration advising, regional excursions, intercultural/diversity education seminars, and workshops on topics ranging from academic success to student life. PLEASE NOTE: All international students must attend the orientation session in January. Please visit your Admitted Student Portal for specific dates and registration.

Important Housing Information
Domestic students who are registered for the January  session and are living on campus will move in to the residence halls the day prior to orientation. International students will move in two days prior to orientation, January 6. Additional housing information will be sent to you in early December.
