What is your favorite part of Boston/thing to do in Boston?

The Boston Common is my favorite place in the city. In the nice weather you can go there to enjoy nature and when it's cold out you can go ice skating on the frog pond!

What’s your favorite NU event or activity?

Husky Hunt! A Boston wide scavenger hunt sponsored by the Resident Student Association.

Why do you want to be an Orientation Leader?

I am beyond excited to spend my summer at Northeastern, trying my hardest to make all of the incoming students feel as comfortable here as possible. The transition into college is an exciting and scary time for everyone, but along the way so many people will help you make the most of your time here at Northeastern. This summer, I hope to be one of those people!

The North End! For every birthday, my friends. Stopping for cannolis at Mike's Pastry is always a necessity.

What is your best Northeastern inside tip?

Rebecca's and The West End will take meal swipes! Rebecca's is a great lunch stop in-between classes (just don't go right after class if you can) and The West End makes excellent, build-your-own salads!

Why do you want to be an Orientation Leader?

I am most looking forward to meeting all the new Huskies and introducing them to campus!

I love the size and diversity at Northeastern. I always seem to come into contact with someone new all the time and learn new things about people and cultures.

What is your best Northeastern inside tip?

If you are ever in need of a Starbucks kick, use the Starbucks on Huntington Ave. instead of the Starbucks in AfterHOURS.

What’s your favorite NU event or activity?

My favorite Northeastern activity is listening to all of the wonderful a cappella groups perform. Before Northeastern, I never heard a real a cappella group perform, but all of the groups here are AWESOME!

I love that Northeastern offers countless opportunities to pursue your goals or just try something new. Love movies? Join the Film Enthusiasts’ Club. Always wanted to learn Chinese? Enroll in a class. It’s never too late to get involved or take up a new hobby.

What is your best Northeastern inside tip?

The Office of Student Activities is located just outside the elevator on the 4th floor of the Curry Student Center and sells AMC movie tickets at a discount. A $7 silver pass lets you see any movie that has been in theaters longer than two weeks – that’s $5 off regular admission!

What’s your favorite NU event or activity?

Social media is a great way to keep track of what’s going on around campus. Most events and clubs have a Facebook group or email list. Sometimes, I’ll find out about an event through a friend’s tweet or status update.

The sense of true community here surpasses that of any other school,  there are no reservations against interacting with new students. Whether we are having a good time or in times of emergency, we all watch out for each other without a moment of hesitation.

What is your favorite part of Boston/thing to do in Boston?

My favorite restaurant is the Gourmet Dumpling House, a hole in the wall Dim Sum joint just a train ride away from my dorm.  I expect to eat my paycheck this summer.

Why do you want to be an Orientation Leader?

The Northeastern Community has already provided me so much in just a year, and I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be or anything I'd rather do this summer than help new students begin their experience here.  I'm looking forward to making sure the new students know their next year will be one of their best and nothing to fear.
