IMG_5626On June 17th, Innovations in Oral Health conducted an interactive, hands-on workshop for a class of 32 first-year physician assistant (PA) students at Northeastern University. The oral health topics covered in the workshop were informed by the Smiles for Life curriculum, which  students had previously completed  as part of their course requirements.  Following live demonstration by our IOH Program Director, Jessica Holloman, students performed a peer-to-peer oral health risk assessment, oral exam, and fluoride varnish application. These workshops provide an opportunity for students to apply new knowledge and practice the oral health clinical skills taught in the Smiles for Life curriculum. Our goal is for all students to graduate with the knowledge and skills to integrate oral health into practice.
