The One Love Foundation is a national organization founded in 2010 to honor the memory of Yeardley Love, who was killed as a result of intimate partner violence. One Love works with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse and activate communities to work to change the statistics around relationship violence.  In the Fall of 2016, the Office of Prevention and Education at Northeastern partnered with One Love to bring the organization to campus.

Trained peer One Love Ambassadors lead the 90 minute Escalation Workshop which consists of a powerful video plus a discussion on warning signs of partner violence, how to support a friend in a relationship that is unhealthy or abusive, and how to intervene in order to prevent violence in our community.

Get Involved

1. Host a workshop

If you are interested in hosting a workshop with your office, group, team, or organization, please fill out our presentation request form.

2. Become a One Love Ambassador

Please fill out this application by April 9th if you are interested in joining the team for the 2017-18 school year.

We are currently seeking students to serve as One Love Ambassadors. One Love Ambassadors present to peers, carry out advocacy initiatives on campus, attend continuing education meetings to gain a broader understanding of relationship violence on college campuses, and serve as role modes and resources for the Northeastern community.

As a One Love Ambassador at Northeastern University, you will make a difference in the Northeastern community by helping to prevent intimate partner violence, joining a community of students and staff working to end violence, and deepening your understanding of domestic violence and spread that knowledge to others.

The Commitment:
-Attend and participate in a One Love Training workshop.
-Attend continuing education meetings, which are held every other Thursday at 6:00 PM. The meetings provide the space to build community and support each other, prepare and plan for upcoming presentations and events, and learn more from guest speakers.
-Work within a smaller team to carry out the One Love mission. There are three teams within the larger group:

1. The Presentation Team: Presenters co-facilitate the 90 minute One Love escalation workshop. Presenters sign up to give presentations that work with their schedules.
2. The Collaboration & Event Planning Team: Team members reach out to campus groups to schedule presentations. They have the opportunity to plan and implement events and initiatives that raise awareness about healthy/unhealthy or abusive relationships.
3. The Media & Marketing Team: Team members promote and advertise events and initiatives.
