Examples: MDMA (Ecstasy)
Street Names: X, E, etc.
Short-term Symptoms: relaxation, intensification of sensory experiences-especially visual and tactile, synesthesia (blending of senses-'Seeing music'), decreased appetite, urine retention, dilated pupils, increased energy, heart rate, and blood pressure, dehydration, increased sweating, increased body temperature.
Long-term Symptoms: memory loss, lockjaw, involuntary teeth grinding, rapid and uncontrolled eye movements, restlessness, malaise, blurred vision, hyperthermia (excessively high body temperature), serotonin syndrome/toxicity, hyponatremia (electrolyte imbalance that can result in brain swelling).
