Anti-Depressants
Classes: Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs or MAO Inhibitors), Tricyclics
Examples: Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Lexapro, etc.
Short-term Symptoms: you may not feel much as most anti-depressants take days or weeks to have an effect on mood.
Long-term Symptoms: changes in mood, sex drive, or sleep pattern.
Use Caution with: alcohol (many doctors will recommend you not use alcohol with anti-depressants or use in very low quantities), any illegal drug (will reduce effectiveness of most ant-depressants).
