Destination

Alicante is a Mediterranean seaside resort that sits on Spain's southeast coast, and is said to have the best weather in Spain. The city is dominated by the towering Moorish castle of Santa Barbara, once the mightiest citadel in the kingdom of Valencia, and reminds visitors and residents alike of the region's past triumphs and defeats. The "old town" in Alicante is a fun place to explore historic buildings, devour sumptuous foods, or simply take a stroll and people watch from quaint outdoor cafes. The year-round sunshine and mild Springs are ideal for hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities.

Host University

Alicante is one of Spain's newest universities, although its architecture maintains a traditional Mediterranean-style. The University offers a new sports complex for its 30,000 students. There are also numerous cultural events organized by the University and city of Alicante.
