The Rome Program is hosted by La Magia Institute, one of the largest providers of study abroad services and facilities in Rome.
The program is housed in facilities on Via della Gatta in the heart of Rome's Historical center, and just five minutes walk from Michelangelo's Campidoglio and the Roman Forum. This spacious and architecturally dramatic complex in the Doria Pamphilji Palace block was renovated in 2002 into academic facilities. The Gatta space includes Design Studios, Lecture Space, Program Offices, and Computer/Library resources. The Gatta Studio has WiFi access throughout.
This is a VERY ACTIVE program. Students pursue four principle activities:
Housing consists of multi-bedroom apartments in a former convent, now converted into apartments. Located in historic Trastevere, near the Tiber Island, this three floor building surrounds a tree filled garden. The apartments are a 15 minute walk from studio. The trip takes one across the beautiful Tiber Island and through an historic medieval neighborhood. Aparments consist of shared furnished multiple-person units. Each include shared bedrooms, shared bathroom and common living spaces, fitted kitchens with dining areas and washing machines in the units.
