This program provides students with an opportunity to live and study in Santiago, the capital city of Chile. Courses, taught exclusively in Spanish, are available from the university's regular course offerings in most Arts & Sciences disciplines. It is recommended that students enroll in three courses per semester, taking into consideration the difficulty of learning in a foreign language.
In addition, students are also encouraged to take one of several multi-disciplinary courses on Chilean culture which are offered prior to the start of the semester. The class will last for two-weeks and is specially designed to meet the needs of visiting foreign students. There is also a Spanish for Foreigners Program in which classes are taught by faculty members who are specially trained in the teaching of Spanish as a second language. The course is designed to integrate both the language and culture of the region.
Students may choose from PUC's entire catalog.Courses taken abroad may satisfy college and departmental core requirements. Students should consult with their advisor to discuss the specific requirements that may be satisfied abroad.
Santiago, Chile is one of the only capital cities in the world that has easy access to both ski slopes and beaches. The Andean Mountain Range can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Students have the chance to visit numerous villages located in the surrounding countryside and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of country life. In addition to the many outdoor activities, students may also choose to experience Chile's famous wine vineyards, museums, and craft fairs.
PUC offers students classes at four unique campuses. Each campus is designed to meet the academic needs of specific majors. Students may have to travel to various campuses to attend classes.

"They say with this program you either sink or swim. It’s nothing to be afraid of, rather something to look forward to because when you’ve got the swing of things down there- you’re flying."
