Spain - Language (Summer 2)

Course Description: INTL 4939: The Spanish Culture Course is going to be focused on the history of Civil War and its impact on Valencia (1936-1939), with a special focus on womens and the Civil War., followed by the Franco dictatorship and the trasition into the Democracy 1975-until the present. We will cover sociological aspects of rapid changes in Spanish society from Catholic values to modernization, and how that has affected the family, the practice of religion, and sexuality. We will examine how legislation makes certain changes into a new reality, as well as the rapid adaptation into the global economy, technological innovation and inmigration have impacted Spain.

Course Credits: INTL 4939 and SPNS 1202, 2201, 2202, 3201, or 3202 for a total of 8 credits.

Pre-requisites: SPNS 1102, and an interview with the faculty-leader.

Cost of Program: Summer tuition for 8 NU credits plus additional costs TBD.

Application Process: Download the dialogue of civilizations application and waiver form. Turn in two copies of each completed form and two copies of your unofficial transcript to the Office of International Study Programs in 10 BV.
