Course Description:
Classes at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero in Buenos Aires. Aside from classroom time, students will visit key sites in the city to learn about the architecture of the city, its museums, its neighborhoods, and the different areas that gave birth to the rich lore of tango and the country's distinctive literary traditions. Guest lecturers will also speak about the country's history, sports, music, and Argentina's role in South America's economy and political systems in the new globalized contexts.
INTL 4939 CONTENT: Course Objectives: The course aims to provide the students with a general knowledge of Argentinean culture and history through literature, music, film, as well as visits to museums, key architectural and/or historical monuments or locations, meetings with artists and thinkers, etc.
Course Credits: SPNS 1302, 2301, 2302, 3301, 3302 & INTL 4939 for a total of 8 NU credits
Pre-Requisites: SPNS 1101, 1102 & a 3.0 GPA
Cost of Program: Summer tuition for 8 NU credits plus additional costs TBD.
Application Process: Download the dialogue of civilizations application and waiver form. Turn in two copies of each completed form and two copies of your unofficial transcript to the Office of International Study Programs in 10 BV.
