The University of Bialystok is one of the newest universities in Poland. The University offers education at seven faculties: Biology and Chemistry, Economics, Education and Psychology, History and Sociology, Law, Mathematics and Physics, Philology. The University of Bialystok educates over 15 000 students mostly from Eastern Europe.
Students can choose from a number or courses taught in English, Polish, German, Russian or French. Students take four courses in the area of international law and/or criminology.
Bialystok is the largest city in northeastern Poland, situated in the Podlaska Lowlands with a population of about 300,000 people. Warsaw, Poland is approximately two and a half hours away from Bialystock, while Grodno in Belarus can be reached in an hour and a half. Bialystok Province is primarily agricultural; industries are concentrated in the capital. It is surrounded by the wild woods of the Bialowieza Primaeval Forest and the Narwianski Park Narodowy, making the region particularly attractive. Bialystok's climate is a bit colder than Poland�s average.
The University of Bialystok has two dormitories conveniently located. A bus service is provided from the dormitories to the town center, as well as to all University of Bailystok facilities.
Students must be a junior or senior CJ major. 3.0 GPA. Please see Gail Horn in the undergraduate CJ office.
$19,400 per semester for the 2009/2010 academic year. Includes tuition and round-trip airfare. Housing and meals are not included.
