Barbara Larson: Women in the Workplace
|Barbara Larson is Executive Professor of Management at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, and has been teaching at Northeastern since 2012. Her research focuses on the personal and interpersonal skills that people need to work effectively in virtual environments. Previously, Barbara worked for 15 years in a variety of finance and operations roles, most recently as Director of International Finance at R.R. Donnelley.
Barbara received her doctorate in Management at Harvard Business School, her M.B.A. in Finance and Operations Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Virginia.
Juliette Mayers: Successful Networking
|Juliette is currently the CEO of Inspiration Zone, a firm specializing in multicultural consulting, brand management, and thought leadership. She serves on the Board of Directors for Eastern Bank and is the Board Director of the Mass Workforce Investment Board.
Previously, Juliette was the Executive Director of Multicultural Marketing at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She has recently authored two books, The Guide to Strategic Networking, and A Black Women’s Guide to Networking.
Juliette holds her M.B.A., Marketing and Finance, from Simmons College and B.S., Marketing from Northeastern University.
Lauren States, Keynote: Establishing Leadership in the Workplace
|Lauren currently serves on the Dean’s Executive Committee and is an Executive-in-Residence at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern. In 2015, she completed a Fellowship with Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative focused on math literacy as a pathway to increase the participation of girls and minority students in the tech industry. Previously, Lauren was an IBM Executive, most recently as the VP of Strategy and Transformation within the Software Group Sales Division.
Lauren holds an Executive Certification in Business Excellence from Columbia Business School and a B.S. from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Trustees for Clean Harbors and NYC International House.
Danielle Duplin: Career Decisions
|Danielle is a public speaking coach, event curator, and innovation catalyst who teaches workshops and delivers keynotes on “How to TED in all Your Talks.” Danielle is also a producer for Boston’s HUBweek and a volunteer with entrepreneurial nonprofits.
She combines her unique background in strategic design, event production, software engineering, executive leadership, and theater to synthesize content and communication goals, and help clients own the moment.
Previously, she was the co-founder and Executive Producer of TEDx Boston and Vice President of Technology and Innovation at Fidelity Investments, as well as, the award-winning creator/host of “Telefest”. Danielle earned her B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics, with a concentration in Theater Arts, from Binghamton University.
