Nurses have plenty of ideas about making meaningful impact on the complex tangle of healthcare policies, procedures, and treatments that affect their patients. However, they may not have the knowledge or skills that takes advantage of design techniques and technology to catalyze an idea to a solution.

Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences, School of Nursing presents two events – first of their kind – Nursing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit and Hackathon on June 17-19, 2016. This pacesetting initiative lifts nurses into the center of a multidisciplinary “think tank” that incubates solutions that improve the healthcare experience of patients and delivery systems.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Nurses from all practice settings, students, other healthcare professionals, technology and insurance professionals, developers, innovators and investors.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?

During the Friday summit, keynote speakers and “living room” sessions, will be driven by thought leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators, who will guide participants by sharing their experience, expertise and passion to design, create, and develop innovative solutions and applications to improve patient care and our healthcare system. The Hackathon weekend will give participants the opportunity to partner with nurses to collaborate, brainstorm & design new solutions, technologies and devices in an accelerated setting. The event will conclude Sunday with an awards ceremony and prizes for the top three innovations.
