Dinner & Networking:

Get to know your new friends. Meet the people you’ll be working with.

Choose Your Project:

From the top projects – Choose which one you’ll work on over the weekend.

60 Seconds to Pitch:

Got an idea? You’ve got 1 minute to pitch in front of the group.

Build a Team:

Whether it’s your idea or someone else’s, you’ll create a cross-functional team to work with over the weekend.

Learn from the Best

Local mentors will be coming in throughout the event to coach you through the hard problems.

Get to Work

We’ve got the resources and support in place to make things happen in a short period of time. You’ll be responsible for everything from finding customers to building your product. We’ll be here to help when you need it.

Present in Front of Panel Judges

The culmination of the weekend. You’ll have 5 minutes to present the product or service you built to the crowd and a panel of experts.

Celebrate

Watch the other teams present and celebrate all the work you’ve done. Get the opportunity to talk to judges and mingle with mentors.

This year’s Healthcare Hackathon: Nurses Hacking Healthcare is focusing on creating technology to support older adults and those with disabilities living and aging at home.  Evolving the field of “Telehealth” and advances in sensors for home monitoring, wearable devices, and ubiquitous communications technologies, we have an unprecedented opportunity for delivering effectively tailored health interventions on a large scale!  Plus we have access to the State of the Art Lab: NUHome that models real living with the latest sensor technology!

If you are interested in entrepreneurship the answer is yes. Whether you are an experienced entrepreneur or new to the startup scene, if you are motivated to improve healthcare by building a product or startup and are open to new ideas this is the event for you.

During the Event

Any ideas regarding improvement in healthcare are welcome. This year’s focus is on creating technology improving care for older adults aging and those with disabilities living at home.

No, this hackathon is for growing new businesses from the ground up over the course of the weekend.

After the Event

It is completely up to you and your team members if you would like to continue your venture outside of the hackathon.

The top 3 winning teams will all receive cash prizes,private 1 on 1 mentoring session from one of our leading coaches, an opportunity to pitch the Health Sciences Entreprenuers (HSE) to join as one of their new ventures, the top 2 winning teams will have lunch with Zafre Investments & the our winning team will be provided 3 months of work space courtesy of Canopy City!
