Lauren Kettler, Site Director
Lauren Kettler (Site Director) – I am excited to once again participate in the fantastic program of NUin! As the Site Director for NUin England last year, I worked with a strong team to establish a solid inaugural program and to also expand cross cultural competencies of participating students. I am a double alumnus of Northeastern University with a B.S. and M.A. and an alumnus of Trinity College Dublin with an MPhil in Political Science. After living in Ireland, I moved to the Czech Republic where I continued to work in promoting youth leadership and global citizenship I have traveled throughout Europe for over ten years, including many inter-railing adventures that allowed me to see the vast cultures throughout the continent. One of my favorite places in Europe is London, a city I lived in while completing my M.Phil thesis and still travel to frequently. I return to London this autumn with enthusiasm to help facilitate the amazing opportunities that come from NUin England.
Barbara Lee, International Student Advisor
From a Hawaiian paradise to Sin City, it was always a dream of mine to
attend college on the East Coast. Starting my fourth year I finally came to be a Psychology major. On campus, I stay active in many organizations that have led to me to plan a 24-hour, city-wide scavenger hunt with six hundred participants, to clean toys for underprivileged children, to mentoring a group of twenty honors students. Last summer, I went to Japan to study Japanese and I have just returned from Gold Coast, Australia where I spent four months studying and traveling. My passport is filled with stamps from Japan, Korea, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia, and I look forward to nothing more than adding a few dozen more in there! Last fall, I had the amazing opportunity to be a Resident Assistant in Kennedy Hall for freshmen and still maintain contact with my former staff members and residents. I am a very open and honest person and I love planning events just as much as I love traveling, which is why I am so excited to be an ISA for London’s NUin program this year!

My name is Alex Plum and I recently completed my sophomore year at Northeastern. I am from Doylestown, PA, which is about 25 miles north of Philadelphia. I enjoy playing golf, sailing, and cooking. I am a huge fan of Philly sports and I love to go down to see games as often as possible. Since I was young I sailed boats in the summer time. Because of this passion I joined the Sailing Team at Northeastern at the beginning of my sophomore year. The Sailing Team offers great opportunities to travel and meet people from all over New England. After a trip to England my senior year of High School, NUin seemed like a great fit for a co-op. I look forward to meeting a number of new people through this program and welcome everyone to the Northeastern community.
