On-site Orientation

Home > Ireland: FIE@DBS > On-site Orientation

All N.U.in Ireland: FIE@DBS students participate in an orientation program once they arrive in Dublin. This orientation introduces participants to their new neighborhood and to the services available at the Dublin Business School (DBS), builds community amongst the group, and reviews academic policies and expectations.

On arrival day, the students receive a housing orientation and walking tour of their neighborhood in Dublin. Registration typically takes place the following day, and lunch is provided for students, along with a welcome dinner during the first few days. A bus tour of Dublin takes place early on in the week, which gives the students a chance to get to know the city and their classmates better before classes commence. A tour of FIE facilities and buildings and an additional supplementary introduction to college workshop is provided as part of the comprehensive orientation. Guest presentations from the GARDA (Irish Police) on safety abroad and Service-Learning provider will also be included.

A day-long excursion to Howth and a day trip to Causey Farm in Meath round out the orientation experience and foster socialization and inclusiveness.
