Ladbroke Grove Area

Nido Notting Hill is located on the Regent's Canal in Ladbroke Grove, close to beautiful Notting Hill. In August, students will enjoy being on the doorstep of the world-famous Notting Hill Carnival. The residence facility is a five-minute walk from a grocery store and is conveniently located to restaurants, cafes, and stores.

Accessing the Rest of the City

Getting to Foundation House and the rest of the city is easy and convenient. The residence hall is a short bus ride away from several underground (tube) stops and is located on the 70 bus route, which provides a direct connection to Kensington and the FIE facilities.

Please see the transportation section of this website for more information.

There are laundry facilities located in the basement of Nido. Students will be able to load money on to their room key card to pay for the machines. Students must provide their own detergent.

Kitchens & Washing Dishes

Each student will receive a “kitchen for hire” pack equipped with dishes, silverware, and pots and pans. While figuring out how to plan and prepare meals may seem overwhelming at first, former students adjusted during their time in London and learned a valuable - and fun! - skill.

Computer Access

All England students, including those living outside of Metrogate, will have access to Metrogate House via their International Student Identity Card (issued upon arrival). There is a computer lab in the basement of Metrogate that is shared with the three other FIE residences, Manson Place, 123 Queen’s Gate, and Hyde Park Gate. This computer lab contains roughly 25 desktop PCs with hard-wired Ethernet connections, two laser printers, and a scanner. Students may use wireless printing at a quota of 50 pages for free, and pay 5 pence per page thereafter.
