Public Buses
San José has a modern bus system with numerous routes that can take participants directly to the ULatina campus and offer stops close to all of the homestay locations. Buses can take participants to destinations well outside of the city, or simply to the downtown area. Local buses are very inexpensive, with the average bus ride costing about 210-305 colones, or approximately 40-60 US cents.

Taxis
Taxis are a relatively inexpensive way to travel around town.  All taxis in Costa Rica are red with a yellow triangle on the door. Taxi rates begin at roughly 1 USD or 500 colones. All taxis have a meter to accurately record the fare.

Car Rental
Renting or driving a car is prohibited during the program.
