Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare
All N.U.in Australia participants are required to maintain health insurance as part of their visa requirement. N.U.in Australia participants will be covered by Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare, an authorized provider of health coverage for international participants. Costs for health coverage will be included in the program costs.
An OSHC Worldcare representative will assist N.U.in Australia students with all OSHC inquiries and provide on-campus services. An OSHC Worldcare representative is also available every week at the Hawthorn campus. Students can ask questions about their OSHC policy, seek claiming options, obtain instructions about how to order an OSHC membership card online, and much more. Visit the OSHC website for further information.
OSHC is sufficient for a routine doctor’s visit to address a head cold or a sore throat. However, if a student has a pre-existing condition that can be managed while abroad, but will require some medical attention, consider looking into additional coverage. We recommend reading the OSHC policy documents carefully, looking into what your current insurance carrier will cover abroad, and making a decision as a family about what additional coverage is necessary. N.U.in has provided a checklist of questions to guide your conversation with your current health insurance provider to determine the extent of international coverage needed.
International students might need to arrange for coverage with a company in their home country. Most policies do not cover international students traveling in a country other than the US.
