When Mathematics major Victoria Kraft was admitted to The Program, she immediately saw it as an opportunity to do something different and take advantage of a unique and valuable opportunity. “When I heard about, I just had to go! This was a great step towards getting me right in the middle of something new outside of my own little world.” Having always wanted to travel to London, Victoria seized the opportunity to spend a semester there.

As a part of the service learning program, Victoria volunteered at a nursery on a farm outside of the city, which allowed her to see more of the country than she would have had the chance to otherwise. She also reflects fondly on the programming planned by the staff support services. “The program funded trips to Stonehenge, Bath and Scotland, and to see shows like Wicked and We Will Rock You. You can also spend time with the people you are abroad with by playing ultimate Frisbee, carving pumpkins and making cupcakes!”

After having such a positive experience with The Program, Victoria encourages others to also take a chance and step outside their comfort zone. “Don’t be afraid to try something new. If you waste your time being afraid, you’ll miss out on an experience that will change your life forever.”
